Origin: One of the oldest tribes of Odisha, the Dharua are scattered over several districts and are believed to be one of the several sects of the Gonds.
Occupation: Originally agriculturalists and believed to have been employed in military service of the native Rajas, the community now also engages in wage labour, basketry and forest collection.
