Origin: The Binjhias believe their original home to be Kolanagri in the Vindhya valley from where they moved east to settle in the Chotanagpur region and parts of Odisha.
Occupation: The Binjhia are agriculturalists growing paddy, maize and ragi among other crops. Unlike other tribals, they do not yoke cows. They also work in mines, industries and construction sites.
